Description

The forest lake Salstern is popular in early summer when it offers warmer bathing temperatures than the larger lakes in Motala municipality. The canoe trail extends around the entire lake, along the shoreline. Here you will paddle past countless bathing pearls. There is a genuine forest bath just outside Karlsby, where the pine trees swaying next to the bath. There is also a bathing area just west of Karlsby. The bathing area is equipped with a jetty, changing rooms and a barbecue area if you want to take a break from paddling.

Salstern consists of many bays and islands that invite to magnificent experiences. You can therefore also swim more secluded on sun-warmed rocks or small beaches. There are also many beautiful summer cottage areas along the Salstern coastline, such as Djupvik, Salstersvik and Burnäset. In Djupvik there is also access to a picnic area with a shelter and barbecue area. If you want to extend your paddling trip, you can also paddle on a canoe trail that leads out to Frännsjön.

There are two moorings for canoes at the lake, one adjacent to Karlsby and one at Burnäset.
