Utvandrarleden - Hiking

Through forests and meadows, past cottages and stone walls, runs the eleven-mile-long hiking trail, Utvandrarleden (The Emigrant Trail). The trail alternates between paths, smaller forest roads, gravel roads, and short stretches on highways, ensuring a varied and enriching hike in the footsteps of Vilhelm Moberg.

Those familiar with Moberg's novels about the emigrants will recognize many places along the way, such as Ljuder, Korpamoen, Moshult, and Åkerby. The locations mentioned in the books are real and found along the trail in Småland. Seize the opportunity to experience Småland at its best. Take in the forest scents, listen to the sounds of the woods combined with the ambiance of small communities and villages. Stone walls, red houses with white trims, and wooden fences provide a constant presence of historical charm.
