Description

The coniferous forest area here is called "Ulvamon". Wolf is the same as wolf. From the end of the 18th century, Ulvamon was a settlement for the uninhabited. At its peak, around 200 people lived here in around 30 places. There were crofts, huts and earthworks. All the sites are signposted. House foundations, cairns and low stone walls are reminders of that time. Everything is described in the book "Ulvamon - a borderland in time and space" (2016). The last wolf was shot in these parts in the mid-19th century, but it is not unlikely that it will soon return.

The large coarse-grained boulders at this part of the trail are called Blekingegranit and the more fine-grained ones Växjögranit.
