Description
Vilhelm Moberg's childhood school was built in the late 1870s, nestled in the forest of Påvelsmåla, where Moberg attended school from 1906 to 1912. In the 1930s, the outdated school was abandoned, and a new one was built in Moshult. In the 1960s, the original school was moved from Påvelsmåla and rebuilt in Moshultamåla. Vilhelm Moberg attended its inauguration in 1966. Since 1980, the school has been open to the public. Inside, it has been restored to its original condition with a large classroom where visitors can learn more about the author and the surrounding area. A statue of Vilhelm Moberg stands outside the school.
