Utsiktsplats Malmbryggshage

From here you can see Bryngelstorp, a villa and terraced house area from the 1960s. The name comes from the farm Bryngelstorp, which can be linked to the saddler Mäster Bryngel Sundbeck who lived in Nyköping in the mid-18th century.

You also see Brandholmen, a residential area near the sea, Rosvalla sports and event arena and the center. Garbage was once burned here. In just 50 years, Brandholmen has developed into a place with a boatyard, guest harbor and housing with walking and cycling paths right next to the water.

On the other side of the water you can see the Arnö peninsula, which today is an area under development. Here, new residential areas are being built next to the sea, close to nature and hiking areas. The Sörmlandsleden trail runs through Arnö out to Strandstuviken, where there are camping and bathing sites.

Malmbryggshage is a district in the western part of Nyköping south of Trosavägen, surrounded by Sjösafjärden and wooded areas. The name Malmbryggshagen recalls the old days when iron ore was mined in Svärta parish.
