Description

Tolmon Nature Reserve is an excellent example of a clearly marked ridge formed by the ice sheet around 10,000 years ago. The ridge, located southeast of Ericsberg where Köpingsåsen and Katrineholmsåsen meet, is a popular area for walking and cycling along the ancient road on the ridge. Köpingsåsen stretches from the Ludvika area to Nyköping, and here the ridge reaches a height of about 35 meters above the adjacent depressions. The reserve also contains a major ancient monument, Tole grav, a ship-shaped rock formation.

Historically, some nature reserves, such as Tolmons, have been set aside to protect the ridges from development, but with no guidance on woodland management, resulting in a limited biological nature value today. The gravel ridges, often running northwest to southeast, reflect the movement of the ice sheet and are important geological formations. Many ridges have been damaged by quarrying for construction materials, making the protection of pristine ridge sections such as Tolmon particularly important to preserve these unique landforms.

Naturreservatet ligger vid väg 52, cirka 2 kilometer sydost om Ericsbergs Slott i Katrineholms kommun. Parkering saknas vid vägen. Läs mer på Länsstyrelsen Södermanlands webbplats.

Det är förbjudet att:

Skada fast naturföremål eller ytbildning
Tälta eller uppställa husvagn inom reservatet
Avsiktligt störa djurlivet
Skräpa ned i naturen med plåt, plast, papper, avfall eller annat så att otrevnad kan uppkomma eller skada för annan
Olovligen ta gren från växande träd eller ris eller på annat sätt skada växande träd
Överhölja, plantera eller på annat sätt skada fast fornlämning

Det är förbjudet att utan Länsstyrelsens tillstånd:

Fånga och insamla ryggradslösa djur på sådant sätt att deras biotoper eller reproduktionsmiljöer skadas eller förstörs.
