Description

Vreta Kloster is one of Sweden's most interesting medieval churches and was built in the 12th century. One of Birgittaleden's most beautiful pearls. Next to the church are the ruins of Sweden's oldest nunnery, which was founded in the early 12th century and came to belong to the Cistercian order. The church breathes thousands of years of history but is still a functioning worship room today, where we celebrate mass or worship every Sunday. There are pilgrim stamps here and the parish offers accommodation in nearby parish homes.

In the monastery church regular prayers are said. See website for current times: https://www.svenskakyrkan.se/vretakloster
