Description
Landeryd's church is a Pilgrim's Welcome and offers space for sleeping on the floor for pilgrims in the parish hall near the church. Here you can also get a stamp in your passport.
The original church was from the latter part of the 12th century, but the church was extended a few times. After a short and intensive work, the new church was ready to be consecrated by Bishop Rhyzelius on July 29, 1753. Admittedly, everything was not quite ready – the inner ceiling came the following year and the spire only in 1762. From the old church, the western wall and the lower part of the tower are preserved, as well as a number of valuable furnishings: baptismal font and crucifix from the Middle Ages, as well as the pulpit from the 17th century.
The parish center is just beyond Landeryd's church. You can park at the church and walk through the cemetery down to the parish center or drive past the church and turn right down to the parish center. See directions to the church.
