Description
Broadleaf forest, meadow orchards, marshes, pastures and a lake. The reserve's landscape is varied and here you will find old oak trees, indented alder marshes and wetlands that are home to lush flora and fauna with lichens, insects and fungi. Watch the occasional muskox and listen to the intense bird song during the spring flowering season. Why not visit the beautiful fields between the forest groves. Hazel, cherry and sloe berries meet remnants of the village's old apple orchards. A visit here is priceless. Experience it all by taking a walk on the orange marked trail. The reserve is located on the northernmost part of Sirkön in Lake Åsnen. The area borders the Bjurkärr nature reserve and you get here by following the signs from the road between Torne and Urshult. There is a main parking lot - the one that the road signs point to - and a parking lot at Sirköbron on the road between Torne and Urshult.
Regulations
You are welcome to visit the nature reserve, but please note that it is not allowed to:
- drive or park a motorized vehicle other than on a road or designated parking area
- disturb the wildlife, for example by approaching a nest or similar
- destroy or damage fixed natural objects or surface formations, for example by digging, drilling, painting, chiseling or otherwise damaging rocks, boulders or the like
- breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead standing or fallen trees and bushes
- pick or dig up rice, herbs, mushrooms, mosses and lichens other than berries and edible mushrooms for domestic use
- catching or collecting insects, snails, worms or other invertebrates
- camping, setting up a caravan or motor home
- making a fire
- putting up a board, sign, poster or similar device
From regulations 2, 4, 5 and 6, measures for scientific research that have been approved in advance by the County Administrative Board are exempted.
