Water quality at municipal bathing sites

Safe water means that the level of bacteria is low enough not to pose a health risk.

Good with remarks means that the level of bacteria in the sample is slightly elevated. Bathing in the water is still not considered a health risk, but the municipality should follow up on why the level is elevated.

Unsafe water means that one or both bacteria are present in high levels in the bathing water, which is a sign that there has been contamination of some kind. There is also a risk that there are other micro-organisms in the water that can make you sick if you swallow the water.

Parameters: Intestinal Enterococci Presumptive E.coli. The sample is taken at a depth of 30 centimeters where the water depth is at least one meter.
