Description

From Valbacken in Ingatorp, 278 meters above sea level, there is an extensive view of the area. The Höglandsleden stage HÖ3 passes here, near Valbacken's alpine ski resort and summer café.

The walk continues along Silverån, one of Emån's largest tributaries. The Silverån valley, from Byasjön down to Åsjön, is a clear and flowing wilderness area, protected as a national interest for nature conservation. The river is home to trout, minnow and mountain salmon, while the lakes are dominated by perch, pike and roach.

Silverån offers sport fishing with sustainable rules and fishing licenses. The best fishing season is May-June when large caddisflies and damselflies hatch and attract trout to the surface. The lakes along the route are clear water lakes with pebble and gravel bottoms, where pike and perch thrive.

In Mariannelund, the trail connects to Emilleden, a 40 km long blue-marked hiking trail through forests, villages and meadows. Emilleden reflects the history of the villages from the time of emigration to today's landscape, characterized by Astrid Lindgren's stories about Emil i Lönneberga.

The stage ends at Filmbyn in Mariannelund, where Astrid Lindgren's film world meets today's hikers.
