Nature reserve
Outside the enclosed farmland, the nature reserve comprises ancient forest. This common land lies on a plateau of bedrock with a steep slope in the western section where the granite is revealed, forming gaps in the forest. The coastal meadow by the sea is a historic hayfield used for grazing. There are several historic sites here known as båtkåsor comprising two stone walls where boats were laid up. The boats were used for fishing and for going to milk the village’s cows on the nearby island of Tomtö.
The rules for the nature reserve are shown in the link below but, for example, you are not permitted to pitch a tent or park a caravan, light fires where there is no site designated for campfires, and dogs must be kept on a lead (other than when hunting).
