Lilla Bjers Gårdsbutik

Lilla Bjers is a green, organic oasis in Västerhejde on Gotland, 7 km south of Visby. The farm is a place that breathes history filled with flavors from the earth. Bjers is an old Gotlandic word for mountain.

It is with reverence for the people who have previously been here that we cultivate the land. The fact that food has been cooked here for at least 2,500 years is shown by a Bronze Age cooking pit that we found on the farm.

To use, not consume, mother earth, through ecology, sustainability and diversity, in love and respect, we want the farm to live on in the future.

Here, a variety of organic crops are grown outdoors. In three cultivation tunnels, crops that need a little more heat are grown, tomato, melon, ginger, etc. Everything is sold in the farm shop, which is open all year round. The farm restaurant offers our raw materials, prepared and served with the greatest respect. Lunch and dinner.

On the farm there are about fifty chickens that take care of the vegetable waste.

We also grow speckled vine snails here. The food of the future with historical roots.

The farm has bee colonies for honey and pollination.

**KRAV-certified cultivation:

Since 2001, the farm has been certified according to KRAV rules and controlled by HS certification. SE-EKO-04.

In 2009, our Christmas tree farm was the first in Sweden to be KRAV-certified.
