Vättlefjäll, Naturreservat
- Nature reserve
- County: Västra Götalands län
Actions
Description
Despite its proximity to the city, Vättlefjäll is quiet from traffic noise.
The area is actually one of Gothenburg's quietest and perfect for a nice day out. There are several hiking trails and paths to choose from, as well as lakes for swimming, fishing and canoeing. In late summer and fall, the forests attract berries and edible mushrooms.
Enjoy the wilderness along the almost 12 km green loop at Vättlestugan, or stick to the graveled walking paths in the west. The marked trails vary greatly so there is something for everyone. Around Surtesjön it is hilly in parts, but accessible with a stroller. Vättlefjällsleden is a 25 km long circular trail that runs both inside and outside the reserve. The Bohusleden and Pilgrimsleden trails run right through in a south-north direction. Hiking any of the trails at your own pace is no problem. There are several shelters to spend the night in and camping is allowed. With the "Yellow Card" you can fish in Vättlefjäll and in Vättlestugan you can rent a canoe.
