Description
At the Tutterskulle Nature Reserve are sturdy old pines in a wild forest landscape with steep slopes and large boulders, but also a still pond and a marsh. The nature reserve is made up of the high plateau that surrounds the rocky outcrop Tutterskulle. Here old pine forest grows and an unusual amount of deciduous trees for the area. The ground is very hilly and here and there are damp depressions. A sign of high natural value. Inonctus and crust fungus are two of the reserve’s rare fungi. They are both known as indication species, as they indicate that there are likely other sensitive species in close proximity. Large and small owls. Tutterskulle is one of the places in Tiveden with most owls. Here for instance are the small species pygmy owl and boreal owl. On spring-winter nights the male boreal owl’s persistent call can be heard for hours.
Access
