There are settlements adjacent to Jättåsarna and Svartberget. People with livestock live here. Hedkärra riding school is located here. Please exercise caution and respect the permanent residents in the area. Otherwise, be careful when you deviate from Bruksleden. The area around Jättåsarna requires good local knowledge.

Description

A slightly larger nature reserve in the area where Bruksleden stage 15 runs. The area consists of mixed forest with a very rich wildlife. The nature is very varied and can change dramatically. Jättåsarna is classified as one of Västmanland's highest "mountain areas". With a little luck, you can see moose, deer, fox, wild boar and various species of birds.

Jättåsarna is also known for its fantastic mining area. Here you will find the remains of the various mines that existed in the past and you can see traces of mine holes, slag heaps and limestone quarries. The limestone-rich soil has led to the presence of unique plants and fungi. Take an extra turn on the paths. There is plenty to see here!
