Description
In Häljesta you will find the largest known rock carving site in Västmanland. On the sloping rocks you can see almost 500 figures, including ships, human figures, ring figures, foot soles, animal figures, grids and 239 bowl pits. The rock carvings date back to the Bronze Age when people carved signs on rocks and should be seen as a reflection of Bronze Age religious life, mainly related to fertility rites.

From E 18 exit 124 towards Munktorp. Signposted Hällristningar to the right. From Köping you can drive Östanåsgatan out, follow the road to the intersection Hallstahammar / Munktorp. Turn left towards Hallstahammar and left again at the sign Hällristningar. The rock carvings are behind the barn. Signposted.

häftigt att se och försöka föreställa sig hur det var för ca 4000-3000 år sedan. tyvärr var det inte så mysigt här, en stor gård som gör att hällristningarna faller i skymundan. skrot och annat stör intrycken. men annars kul att se!
