Description
One of the four entrances to the national park is at Öberget in the far southwest. This is the wildest part of the national park with great chances of seeing grouse, capercaillie and other species characteristic of the national park. At Öberget there are information boards, parking lots, outhouses and shelters with fireplaces. Overnight stays in tents, hammocks or on the ground are permitted. A longer hiking trail of about 16 kilometers in total starts from here, with the possibility of choosing shorter alternatives. In addition to the hiking trail, there is an easy gravel road that goes all the way to the open cabin Alderbäcksrör. The gravel path can be used by those who have difficulty walking or for wheelchairs/prams. The toilet at Öberget is currently not accessible.
