Kälberget

Kälberget is located on the border of Västernorrland and Jämtland counties. The forest consists of old natural spruce forest with elements of birch and willow. The harsh climate is clearly visible in the upper parts of the mountain, where the forest takes on the character of a high-altitude spruce forest and many spruces have sparse, thinning or broken tops.

Below the high altitude forests there are much more productive environments with coarse spruce forest. The forest is very rich in hanging lichens such as twig lichen and thorn lichen.

The terrain is hilly and in the far east the slope is really steep. In the north, the area borders a forest road, which makes the area easily accessible.
