Are you looking for an experience beyond the ordinary? Then Vithult nature reserve is the spot for you! Some parts of Vithult’s forest has been protected since the 1930’s and the area is today a part of Natura 2000, the European system of protected areas.
The area has a great variation. Stora Brorsmåla is characterized by shady deciduous trees, but in Vithult’s primary forest you find old crooked pine trees. A walk through the primary forest makes you almost believe in the Scandinavian folklore’s about trolls. Are you more interested in birds then Tängsjön and Träholmasjön is the spot for you!

Parking
At Stora Brorsmåla you find a parking space, an information sign, a toilet, and a seating area. There is also a parking space at the lookout point at Träholmasjön.
Directions
From road 23/37, about 2 km north of Nottebäckskrysset, follow the sign towards Bredhälla. After 5 km turn right and follow the white sign towards “Naturreservat”.
Regulations
You are welcome to visit the nature reserve, but please note that it is not allowed to:
- damage natural objects or surface formations, for example by digging, drilling, painting or chiseling,
- cut down or otherwise damage living or dead, standing or fallen trees and bushes
- picking, damaging or digging up herbs, fungi, lichens and mosses or other plants, other than picking individual specimens of non-designated species. Berries and edible mushrooms may be picked for domestic use,
- collecting insects, shells, worms or other invertebrates, other than single specimens of non protected species
- drive or park a motorized vehicle or trailer other than on a designated road or parking space,
- set up a board, sign, poster, orienteering control, signpost or art object without the approval of the County Administrative Board,
- conduct competitions, exercises, camps or similar without approval from the County Administrative Board,
- stay overnight in a motorhome or caravan,
- disturbing or harming wildlife, for example, by approaching a nest or playground.
Measures for scientific research that have been approved in advance by the County Administrative Board are excluded from these regulations.
