Tyresta gård

Tyresta Farm is a small farm with plant cultivation and animal husbandry. There are old breeds of sheep such as the red hill sheep and the ramshackle sheep, as well as a stable.

Traditional cereals and winter feed for the animals are grown in the fields. The farm is run with the aim of restoring and preserving Tyresta's centuries-old cultural landscape of small, patchy fields and open pastures. Biodiversity benefits from land grazed by mules and trampled by hooves!

All the farm's seasons are wonderful in their own way, but Tyresta farm is best experienced in April-May when lots of lambs come into the world! In mid-May, most of the cows and sheep are released into the pastures on the outskirts of the village, where they stay until the end of October. Some of the sheep graze in the pastures closest to the farm even in summer.

At Tyresta farm there is also a small farm shop with a sausage grill that is open on Friday-Sunday.
