Description
The old road winds along the Ume River with several rapids, including the once beautiful Märkesforsen. After the construction of the Klippens hydroelectric power plant in 1994, a minimal amount of water flows through the Ume River between Överuman and just downstream of Klippens village.

Between 1990 and 1994, Vattenfall built a hydroelectric power station in Klippen.
The water is led in a 7.5 km long intake tunnel from the intake at the Över-Uman reservoir to the underground power plant. The head is 65 m.
