Beskrivelse
The old road winds along the Ume River with several rapids, including the once beautiful Märkesforsen. After the construction of the Klippens hydroelectric power plant in 1994, a minimal amount of water flows through the Ume River between Överuman and just downstream of Klippens village.
KLIPPENS POWER STATION
Between 1990 and 1994, Vattenfall built a hydroelectric power station in Klippen.
The water is led in a 7.5 km long intake tunnel from the intake at the Över-Uman reservoir to the underground power plant. The head is 65 m. From the power plant, the water is returned to the river in a 3.5 km long outlet tunnel, which flows downstream of Klippen village. The power plant produces electricity only during peak load, mainly during the daytime in winter. Total capacity 28 MW and normal annual production 97 GWh/year.

Rutevejledning
Just north of Klippen, 3 km, you can turn off the E12 onto the old country road. A sign by the road says cottage village. The narrow gravel road is drivable for 4 km before it rejoins the E12
