Description

Rudbodakärret is a valuable wetland with high biodiversity. Rare species such as the great crested newt, lemon-spotted dragonfly and small water beetle are found here. The plant and animal life in and around the marsh was inventoried in 2012 and wintering amphibians were inventoried in the slope north of the marsh in 2021. In the spring of 2021, several hundred greater and lesser newts were found but no frogs and toads.

The slope has previously been used as a shooting range and in a couple of places the lead levels were high. The soil was therefore decontaminated in 2022 in these places. The soil was then restored to provide the best possible conditions for the salamanders' wintering.

There is a cycle path along the western and northern shores of the marsh and a path east and south of the marsh. There is an information sign at the western edge of the marsh.
