Description
Tossögården was built at the end of the 19th century and consisted of workers' housing for the adjacent Tossösågen and later also Husåsågen. The farm has a main building with four apartments, an outbuilding, a cellar and an outhouse. The buildings are the only reminders of the important sawmill period on Tossön in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Only the remains of the foundations of the sawmill buildings remain today.
The Tossögården association runs the working life museum, which, based on old documents, photographs and utility objects, retells and brings to life Järpen's industrial history. Every year, national day celebrations, a Christmas market, a summer café and flea market sales are organized.
Several of Tossön's nature trails also start at Tossögården.
