Description

Blåningsmåla nature reserve is a small deciduous forest area where hanging lichens and ticks grow on the trees and there is plenty of dead wood.

Blåningsmåla borders Mörkasjön. There is a house foundation, cairns and a stone wall next to the lake.

Deciduous natural forest

Blåningsmåla consists of deciduous forest dominated by aspen with large elements of oak and beech and large spruces. Most of the area is classified as a key biotope. There is plenty of dead wood in various stages of decomposition. The trees grow abundantly with hanging lichen and various types of ticks, tree-living fungi. There is also a small swamp forest in the area.

In the western part at the old shoreline towards the adjacent Mörkasjön there is an old house foundation with a small cellar. Adjacent to it are several well-made cairns surrounded by a stone wall. A dense, narrow-stemmed hornbeam forest grows on the old farmland.
