Description
The wetland trail is 2.6 km long and marked with blue tiles. It leads you past four large wetlands and along the meandering waters of the Lina stream. The trail starts at the reserve parking lot in the southern parts of Lina Nature Reserve and takes you through damp, almost jungle-like swamp forest and pasture.
The wetlands used to be clay pits for Lina and Kiholm's brickworks, which were located on the shores of Lake Mälaren in the 19th and 20th centuries. The clay pits were converted into wetlands between 2000 and 2011 and are now habitats for many amphibians, insects and birds. For example, the endangered great crested newt thrives here, and in Linabäcken you can spot common terns in winter.
The path is narrow, partly damp and rich in roots. You pass two staircase-like fence crossings, a narrow staircase and a wooden bridge with railings. Cows graze in the pasture from May to October.
