Visitors to Trehörningsskogen Nature Reserve and hikers on the Roslagsleden Hiking Trail, please beware!

Several areas in the nature reserve are currently flooded. It is not possible to circumvent Lake Trehörningen on the Roslagsleden trail. Also, an area east of Myssingen is flooded and the Roslagsleden trail impassable.

Description

While hiking the Roslagsleden trail through Trehörningsskogen nature reserve, you'll encounter untouched forests with a little bit of everything: peaks and valleys, steep slopes, as well as wetlands and lakes.

The forests here are untouched by modern forestry and contain trees varying in age and states of decay, providing ideal conditions for high biodiversity. Birds such as the three-toed woodpecker, capercaillie and black grouse can be found here, as well as many unusual mosses, fungi and lichens.

The best hiking trail in the reserve goes towards the two lakes, Trehörningen and Oppsjön. There are picnic areas with windbreaks at both lakes.
