Description

Hammarberget Nature Reserve is located southeast of Tyresö Church and just north of Tyresta Nature Reserve. The reserve consists of a headland in the western part of Kalvfjärden. The area has high natural values and is of great interest for outdoor life.

The purpose of the reserve is to preserve a varied area with a large element of deciduous forest and open meadows with rich flora and fauna. The area also contains older and largely untouched spruce forest with high biodiversity.

Hammarberget was established as a nature reserve in 1993 and has a single landowner but is largely accessible to the public.

Hammarberget is very hilly, very varied and scenic. There are steep slopes covered in broadleaf forest that separate the mountain itself from the surrounding farmland at Stormyra. Up on the mountain, Hammarängen spreads out to the north and west. The central parts consist of mixed forest with lots of oak and hazel. The northern part consists of dense aspen and birch forest with elements of oak.
