Grillplats vid Alby friluftsgård

Alby farm served as a vicarage for almost 300 years. In 1635, the lord of the manor of Tyresö, Gabriel Oxenstierna, granted Alby as a vicarage in the newly formed parish. The land that belonged was a wage benefit, but the priest was rarely seen in the field but kept with maids and servants who took care of the agriculture and animals. Nothing is written about the appearance of the main building in the 17th century. The current main building dates from 1807, with a room layout that dates from the 18th century. There were clear rules for which rooms and other houses the priest was entitled to and the parishioners had to build. From the turn of the century 1900, farming was leased out. The last tenant moved out in 1967. All the buildings that remain today belonged to the farm: stables, barn, brewhouse, granary and tenant's residence.

By car you can get to Alby friluftsområde from two directions. It is signposted from Myggdalsvägen and from Tyresövägen at the exit towards Gimmersta. There are parking lots at the end of Alby skogsväg and at the end of Prästgårdsvägen.

Bus 873 goes from Gullmarsplan to Nyfors. From Nyfors you walk 830 meters down to Alby Friluftsområde.

In summer, some tours with 873 go all the way down to Alby Friluftsområde.

By car you can get to Alby friluftsområde from two directions. It is signposted from Myggdalsvägen and from Tyresövägen at the exit towards Gimmersta. There are parking lots at the end of Alby skogsväg and at the end of Prästgårdsvägen.

Detailed description by car: from Nynäsvägen (road 73), take road 229 towards Tyresö. At the end of the highway, you can either turn off towards Tyresö C or follow Tyresövägen further in the direction of Tyresö slott.

If you are heading towards Tyresö C, turn left onto Myggdalsvägen, then left onto Alby skogsväg which leads to a large parking lot.

If you continue towards Tyresövägen, take the exit towards Gimmersta and follow the road all the way to the end of Alby skogsväg.

By bus: bus 873 from Gullmarsplan towards Nyfors. At the end stop signposted towards Alby.

The purpose of the reserve is to preserve animal and plant life and to preserve and develop the natural and cultural environments. The area is also to be used for outdoor life, recreation and education.

Rules and regulations apply in nature reserves. For example, you may only light fires and barbecue at designated and prepared barbecue areas. Other places are prohibited.
