Fjärdlång

Fjärdlång is a varied island with red cottages, smiling meadows, protected bays and hilly woodlands. Here you will find all the typical plants and animals of the archipelago. The protected yew tree grows everywhere in the forest. The island is an ideal destination for the whole family, and in many places the hilly island offers wonderful swimming opportunities on sun-warmed rocks. Take a hike to Tysta Klint in the north of the island. From here you can enjoy a mile-wide view of large parts of Stockholm's southern archipelago. On the island you can fish, rent a rowing boat or kayak and when in season you can pick berries and mushrooms. If you come here with your own boat, Fjärdlång has a guest harbor and some of the archipelago's best natural harbors. Fjärdlång is a nature reserve together with a number of surrounding islands. Most of the nature reserve is managed by the Archipelago Foundation. The southern part, on the other hand, is managed by Haninge municipality through the Culture and Leisure Administration. This is the part where the tour boats dock, where there are tent sites and where the Thielska Villan hostel is located.
