Ekholmsnäs-Koltorp

Ekholmsnäs-Koltorp is a varied landscape with open pastures, field mounds with old oak trees, small open wetlands, coastal meadows, flowering thickets and forest edges with many different types of forest. There are also wild garden plots.

There is a beautiful walking trail along the water on the southern shore of Kyrkviken, and in Gåshaga there is a promenade with swimming facilities.

At Ekholmsnässjön there is a swamp forest with lots of alder trees, and as you approach Långängen farm you will find oak groves in the pasture. In the marshland below Ekholmsnäsbacken there is a newly built footbridge that has two meeting places with views out towards Kyrkviken, good places if you want to watch birds.

Ekholmsnäsbacken is Lidingö's ski slope. The view from the top is breathtaking and it is one of the few ski slopes in the world where you can see the sea. Next to the ski slope is Sweden's longest natural toboggan run and there is also a 9-hole golf course.

Ekholmsnäs farm is surrounded by agricultural landscapes with grazing horses and a fine and varied flora. The farm was built in the late 1700s and is privately owned. Around the same time, an avenue of about 500 oak trees was planted and several of the trees still stand along Ekholmsnäsvägen. An exact replica of the farm's former interior can be found in the Sven-Harry Karlsson Art Museum at Vasaparken in Stockholm.

Björkhagen is a beautiful area with old, overgrown garden plots, and the start of the Lidingöloppet race is at Koltorps gärde.

Parts of the area are included in Långängen-Elfvik nature reserve.
