Skirtorpssjön

Skirtorpssjön Nature Reserve is located on a pebble ridge and is known for its clear traces of the Ice Age, including ridge pits and drift blocks. The most famous ridge pits, Jätten's basin, Jätten's soap dish and Glysa's cellar, take their names from folk tradition and were probably formed by ice blocks being encased in deposits and then melted. The largest ridge pit is filled with water and is known as Skirtorpssjön. The reserve, which is part of the Katrineholm Ridge, is a popular outdoor recreation area with paths, an exercise trail and the Sörmland Trail passing through the area.

The forest area in the reserve used to be called Glysamon, after a woman of giant people according to folk tradition. Forestry is permitted in the reserve, which has affected the area's natural values. Northwest of the reserve is Glysa's grave, a large ship from the early Iron Age, which further contributes to the area's rich cultural history and interest as a recreational area.
