Ramunderberget naturreservat

The mythical Ramunderberget mountain rises 70 meters above sea level and gives Söderköping a powerful setting. Ramunderberget has a long history as an important recreational area for the people of Söderköping and is still a very popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Here you can take the somewhat challenging hike up 318 steps to enjoy the magnificent view. Stairs not your thing? Don't worry, you can easily get to the reserve by car or bicycle via the road to the Petersburg exercise center. Or why not take one of the many paths that run like a spider's web through the area! Once up there, a large and valuable coniferous forest area spreads out with many hiking and exercise trails and exciting places to discover.

In large parts of the reserve there is a rich plant and animal life and you have the chance to see and hear many of the species. Among other things, our largest woodpecker lives here, the woodpecker, unmistakable with its size, black body and red head. Other notable birds include the red-listed species lesser spotted woodpecker and the cuckoo shrike. The birds and other valuable plant and animal species thrive on Ramunderberget thanks to the old forest that has been left untouched for a long time.
