Description
Forsaström's ironworks received a privilege in 1725. Through a conflict over the rights to Forsaström's coal mines, the mill came into the hands of the copper works in the 1770s.
The area was bustling with activity, with long caravans of horse-drawn coal barges bringing charcoal to the blast furnace and forges.
Ore was transported from nearby mines and Utö in the Stockholm archipelago. The mills and brickworks were full of people and activity.
In the 1880s, the mill was swept up in the "great mill death" that swept across the country and the production of iron was replaced by the production of electricity.
