Description
Here Ålebäcken flows into Lake Vättern. On the shore you can see traces of a small harbor with breakwaters. Along Ålebäcken there are remains of at least a couple of millponds, mills and a brick kiln. The remains are partly medieval and belong to Alvastra and partly from later times. The house belongs to the last mill that operated until the 1930s.
Ålebäcken is a spawning ground for trout. It can be seen going up the stream in October-November.
