Here are some tips on the best fishing waters for your specific purpose, for a wonderful, nature-rich experience whether you're fishing along the coast or at a lake.

Baltic Sea

Experience fishing along the coastline in Oskarshamn. We have a beautiful archipelago with many great fishing opportunities. Fishing with handheld gear is allowed in the Baltic Sea. This law permits free fishing in private waters using handheld gear. Fish species that thrive in the Baltic Sea include pike, perch, cod, herring, salmon, trout, whitefish, and various types of whitefish.

Emån

Welcome to fish in Småland's largest river. Anglers from around the world come here to catch salmon, trout, pike, perch, and whitefish. As the river is long, you can also fish in the river in our neighboring municipalities of Högsby and Mönsterås. To fish in the Emån River, you need a fishing permit.

Virån

Virån is a river with accompanying lakes north of Oskarshamn where you can find trout, perch, and pike. A fishing permit is required to fish here.

Hummeln

In Kristdala, you can try your luck at fishing in Hummeln, a lake formed by a meteorite impact. This lake has very high water quality and is home to pike, perch, burbot, and various types of whitefish. A fishing permit is required to fish in this lake.

Marströmmen

Located in the northernmost parts of Oskarshamn, Marströmmen is a flowing river with accompanying lakes. Here, you can find sea trout, pike, perch, and burbot. A fishing permit is required to fish in this area.

Stenbrottet Flugfiske

Exclusive catch and release fly fishing is available in two quarries outside Misterhult. Here, you can fish for trout and rainbow trout. Guides and boats are available on-site, and prior booking on their website is required to fish here.

Hällesjöarna

If you want to catch a nice rainbow trout, it is recommended to visit Hällesjöarna. These lakes offer put and take fishing, which means that noble fish species are stocked for sport fishing purposes in waters where they normally cannot reproduce naturally. At Stora Hällesjön, boats can be used free of charge through the Fliseryds Sportfiskeklubb. At Lilla Hällesjön, only fly fishing from land is allowed. A fishing permit is required for fishing at both lakes.
