Nybergets Vandrarhem

Nyberget is stage 3 on the Bergslagsleden trail and is located between Stjärnfors and Uskavi. The small beautiful mountain village Nyberget is located between Dammsjön and Gränsjön about 9 km from Guldsmedshyttan (RV 50) on the road to Kindla, one of the county's largest nature reserves.

The village has been known since 1539, when the smithy was the center of the four miners who farmed their crown estates. The origins of the village can be linked with certainty to the early foundry in the stream between Dammsjön and Gränsjön. The smelter was closed down in 1809.

Stage 3 is one of the longest on the trail and many people are both tired and hungry when they arrive at Nyberget. Here they can get a night's rest and cook some food in the hostel or just take a break and enjoy the beautiful nature and environment.

The nearby and child-friendly bathing area at Dammsjön is a little gem that is well worth a visit. There are also two windbreaks and barbecue areas by the lake.

The hostel is located on the 2nd floor of the village "two-story". It consists of a room with two single beds and a bunk bed, a room with two bunk beds, totaling 8 beds, and a fully equipped kitchen. On the ground floor there is a toilet with shower.

If you want to order food, it is fine, but it must be done a week before you come. We will of course fix breakfast and coffee if you need.

The hostel is open from May 1 to the last of September
