Description
Furuholmen is a small, low lying moraine island with an abundance of birds, where the Common Gull, Tern, Iceland Gull and Greylag Goose all thrive. In the sparse birch forest you can find Small Cow-wheat, Round-leaved Wintergreen and Chickweed Wintergreen and along the shores grow, among other species, Bothnian Hair-grass and Grass-of-Parnassus. The area is 0.3 square kilometres and snowmobiles are banned on the island.
