Kuvaus
Furuholmen is a small, low lying moraine island with an abundance of birds, where the Common Gull, Tern, Iceland Gull and Greylag Goose all thrive. In the sparse birch forest you can find Small Cow-wheat, Round-leaved Wintergreen and Chickweed Wintergreen and along the shores grow, among other species, Bothnian Hair-grass and Grass-of-Parnassus. The area is 0.3 square kilometres and snowmobiles are banned on the island. Special regulations apply for hunting; read more on the County Administrative Board website (Swedish only) or contact the CAB.

Furuholmen lies in the southern part of Luleå archipelago at Sandön. In summertime, you need a boat to get to the island, in winter you can get there on skis for example.

Asetukset
All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:
- camping
- hiking
- make a fire, but not directly on rocks. Remember to bring your own firewood!
- pick berries and edible mushrooms
- fish in accordance with the laws in force
Special rules apply to hunting in the nature reserve, which you can read more about in the reserve decision. It is not permitted to drive snowmobiles on the island or to damage plant and animal life. Remember the right of public access and protect nature!
