Description

A little south of Makrismåla along the old Yxnanäsvägen lies a large stone on a rock outcrop. The stone has been given the name Thumb rocking stone because you can make it rock with the pressure of just one thumb.

Apparently, it lies so nicely balanced on the surface that hardly any force is needed to shake it out of its position. It may have been like that for hundreds of years, why not thousands of years since the ice age.

The stone is on the right side from Markismåla and there is a sign by the roadside.

Do you make the rock move by jerking the rock with your thumb?
