Stone bridge

In connection with extensive dredging of the wetlands around Björnakulla at the beginning of the 20th century, the powerful stone bridge was built over the dug ditch along the village road. At this time, it was common to drain wetlands to make more arable land or more productive forest land. In total, there are between 40,000 – 50,000 different drainage companies in Sweden, and most were formed at the beginning of the 20th century and are run as associations with joint care and maintenance of ditches and joint facilities.
