Description

At the bottom of Guleboda, right where lake Viren meets the stream from Broddamåla, a beautiful lake delta awaits where the pastures stretch straight into the lake. Apart from white water lily, meadow flowers grow abundantly on the meager pastures where the cows still contribute to an open landscape. There is a stile over the fence that allows you to get into the paddock. Feel free to take the time to sit down for a while to look for birds and insects at the edge of the beach. The relatively shallow bay is a popular haunt for waders and ducks that thrive in the insect-rich water. Among other things, great loons, terns, ospreys, woodcocks, woodcocks, whooper swans and great grebes nest in Viren. Those who are lucky can also manage to see white-tailed eagles, which are regularly seen around the bay.

Lake Viren is a relatively shallow lake with an average depth of 2.2 meters and a maximum depth of 4.2 meters, 134 meters above sea level. The watercourse belongs to Ronnebyån's catchment area and flows into the Baltic Sea in central Ronneby by the Blekinge coast. A fishing license is required to fish in Viren, which you can buy in Korrö Hantverksby, Handlar´n in Linneryd and in Hammarsnäs, among others. It is also possible to buy a digital fishing license via iFiske, see the link below.
