Description

Snorkelled

At the Flundran bathing area on the northern part of Stensö, Kalmar municipality, together with the county administrative board and Naturum, has developed a snorkeling trail. Here you can take a closer look at the plants and animals found in Kalmarsund.

The snorkeling trail takes you on a journey through the forests of bladderwrack, over the camouflage of the sand and the swaying savannah of the night, and you get the chance to see pike, eel, perch, flounder, needlefish and shrimp!

The trail, which is open every day, is marked out with buoys. At each buoy there is a rope leading to a sign with a picture and text telling you what you can discover at that spot.

Snorkel in peace!

You will need a mask and snorkel. A wetsuit is not necessary but helps to keep warm and provides buoyancy.

Be careful when entering the water, there may be slippery and sharp rocks.

Be aware of what is growing and living in the water but feel free to peek in between the leaves and branches of the plants, there is an amazing world to discover below the surface!

Remember to look up above the surface from time to time to locate yourself and pay attention to any boats in your vicinity.

Swim calmly and discover the Baltic Sea.
