Description
Around the center of Kalmar is a wall that used to protect the city from enemies and strangers. The wall was built in the 17th century when the city was moved from the old site of Kalmar Castle to the island of Kvarnholmen, where the city still stands today.
This walk takes you on a journey through Kalmar's history as you walk among the walls and fortifications of Kvarnholmen. The loop is about 2.5 km long and takes about an hour at a slow pace. To read more about the places you pass, you can take part in the walk digitally at kalmar.se. There you can follow the walk on a map or download a leaflet about the walk.
