Description
Klasatorpet is a popular destination in Vilhelm Moberg's emigrant village. It is best known as the filming location for the movie The Emigrants in 1968, when the croft became Karl-Oskar and Kristina's home "Korpamoen". Run by Långasjö Parish's local history association.
Here you can experience a genuine Småland croft environment, where the croft cottage and barn are in original condition, as well as, for example, the earth cellar and water source. Peter Klase, who settled here in 1804, has given his name to the croft. A simple museum with objects from the crofting era completes the picture of life in the 19th century and there is something for all ages to reflect on. In summer, there are also animals on the croft, as well as a lovely herb garden.
