Description

The hiking trail between Revsuddevägen and Värsnäs is part of the Kalmarsundsleden trail that stretches along the beautiful coastline of southeastern Småland.

Information about Kalmarsundsleden

Kalmarsundsleden is a total of about 120 km long and stretches across Kalmar municipality and Torsås municipality. In Kalmar municipality, the trail runs from Haraldsmåla in the north to Stufvenäs in the south. For more information about the continuation of the trail in other municipalities, see information from each municipality.

The trail follows old country roads, railroad embankments, village roads and coastal bridleways. It is a scenic walk that passes many exciting cultural and historical sites.

**Cycle along the trail

The cycling version of the trail is the same as the hiking trail except along stretches where it is not so easy to get around by bike. The cycle path is mostly asphalt, but there are also some gravel stretches.

Where the cycle route differs from the hiking trail, there are no separate trail markings. At some places along the hiking trail there are signs prohibiting cycling where cyclists are directed to take another route.

**Trail markings

The Kalmarsund Trail is marked in orange by means of orange-painted markings on trees, stones and posts. In some places there are also orange-colored wooden arrows where you make choices.

Sights

The trail is very beautiful with varied natural and cultural environments. There are plenty of cultural remains, such as old crofts, cairns of various kinds, stone walls and old fishing villages. The trail also passes several smaller communities and villages in addition to Kalmar city. Several bathing places are passed along the way. Ljungnäs, Vita Sand and Fulvik are some fine examples.

In the leaflet "Kalmarsundsleden" you can read more about the different routes and places the trail passes. The leaflet and more information can be found under "Links".

**Windbreaks and barbecue areas

There are shelters and barbecue areas in several places along the trail.
