Description

Källströmsgården was the home of the artist and sculptor Arvid Källström for 30 years! There are several large sculptures in the garden. Take the opportunity to enjoy a coffee while you stroll around and look at the residence, studios and exhibitions.

The farmhouse and studios are now a gallery, café and library. Inside, the walls are full of smaller works and in the garden there are many large sculptures, including the six-meter-long "The Lying Woman", the singing sculpture "Wind Organ", "The Frenchwoman" on the basement roof and "The Blue Boy" who stands and looks out towards the Blue Virgin.

Källströmsgården is definitely worth a visit and you can also enjoy a cup of coffee in the shade of a tree in the lush garden.

Activities during the summer

The farm is run by the Källströmsgården Art Association, which organizes various art exhibitions and café activities during the summer. For up-to-date information about exhibitions and cafés, please visit the association's website.

Arvid Källström

Påskallavik's own sculptor and artist Arvid Källström was born in Oskarshamn in 1893 before he and his family moved to Påskallavik. He lived and worked in Källströmsgården, where he produced both small and large works of art that are still well preserved today. He worked in materials such as bronze, wood, cement, granite and marble and made outstanding transformations. His works were both imaginatively abstract but also figurative with fine details.

Arvid studied in Copenhagen and then traveled in France, England, Belgium and Holland, but never had an international breakthrough and returned to Easter Island. He married his beloved Elin Nilsson in Paris. They had four daughters, one of whom is Håkan Juholt's mother, making Arvid Källström his grandfather!

He has created sculptures that are today in both Misterhult and Påskallavik churches. He has also created sculptures that today are fountains in Oskarshamn, Kalmar and Hultsfred. His works can also be found in Växjö, Hudiksvall, Borgholm and Kungälv.
