Friluftsområdet Gropen, Vassmolösa

The pit in Vassmolösa is a popular outdoor recreation area that has grown out of the old gravel pit in the village. The area has been renovated into an accessible and welcoming recreational area, while also being promoted as a new local meeting place. The site is now used extensively by both residents and visitors, especially the illuminated sledding hill in winter, but also the large wine shed with a roofed barbecue, the outdoor gym and the cultural trail.

Activities and events such as children's races, training sessions and other outdoor activities are organized here to strengthen the community and encourage an active outdoor life.

The initiative has been implemented in collaboration between Kalmar municipality and Vassmolösa community association through a citizens' budget and village money.
