Svartåns fvof

The fisheries management area offers fishing to the public via a fishing license, which entitles the holder to fish with the following hand-held gear: rod, reel, casting rod and fly rod.

The fishing license is valid in all waters extending from the Svartån outlet at Säbysjön to Tranås harbor inlet. There are both current stretches and parts with deep calmer water. Footbridges stretch along the river in some parts where there is marshland. Spinning and angling are the most popular fishing methods in Svartån.

The most common species are perch, bream, rudd, pike, tench, grayling, burbot, trout, eel and others.

Young people under the age of 16 fish for free, but must have a fishing license. Young people aged 13-15 sign fishing licenses through iFiske or at the Tourist Office Tranås Direkt and children aged 12 or younger sign fishing licenses at the Tourist Office "Tranås Direkt" located at the square in central Tranås.
